When the kids are asleep and a babysitter (or a very trustworthy grandparent) is on duty, Mount Airy is where Poconos nights go upscale. It’s a proper full-scale casino — table games, poker room, 1,800 slots — but the real reason we send guests here is everything around the gaming floor: the Gypsies Lounge with live music and DJs on weekends, a solid lineup of touring comedy and music acts in the event center, and late-night eats that run from a Guy Fieri kitchen to a quality steakhouse. In summer, the outdoor pool and lounge scene gives it a resort-y, almost Miami feel that’s a fun whiplash from your cabin in the woods. It’s 21+ on the gaming floor, obviously, and drinks are strong. Ten minutes from our Mount Pocono Pads, which means a short, cheap rideshare home — take it, and leave the car at the Pad. Best night: catch a show first, then let the night make its own decisions.
