Beach Bistro, Holmes Beach

When your Florida stay calls for one knockout dinner, Beach Bistro has been Anna Maria Island’s answer for over 35 years. It sits directly on the sand in Holmes Beach — not “beach view,” but genuinely on the beach — and the west-facing windows mean every dinner comes with a Gulf sunset as the opening act. The food matches the setting: their bouillabaisse (“Bistro Bouille”) is the stuff of local legend, the grouper is pulled from these waters, and the duckling has been on the menu since the beginning because regulars would riot if it left. It’s a splurge, no way around it, but it’s the kind of meal a group talks about for the rest of the trip. Reserve well ahead and time it 45 minutes before sunset for the full show. Staying at our AMI-area Pads, you’re 10–15 minutes away. Dress code is “Florida nice” — collared shirt, no tie, sandy feet forgiven.
